Yep, 100% you can! Our partner motorbike rental shops are in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Danang. This means you can pick up and drop off in any one of these cities.

Please note that a one way drop off has a $75 relocation fee which covers the cost to transport the motorbike back to the start by train.

If your motorbike breaks down or you have an accident, then you can reach the local team in Vietnam via their phone or WhatsApp hotline.

They will find the nearest mechanic to wherever you are, and get the bike sorted out! They’ll deal with the mechanic to diagnose and resolve any issues you have.

All motorbikes come fitted with luggage racks, we’re figured that’s pretty essential for these big trips.

You can comfortably fit a 40-50 Litre backpack and strap it down with bungee cords.

Yep, our partner shops are open 7 days a week to flexibly suit the timing of your trip.

Yep, how good right? Our partner shop will deliver the motorbike to your hotel on arrival. They request that you drop off the motorbike yourself upon trip completion.

We find that 90% of travellers cover the distance between HCMC to Hanoi in about 4 weeks.

We recommend adding at least a week for each the Mekong Delta/Phu Quc loop in the far south, and the Ha Giang/Cao Bang loop in the far north.

Motorbike shops will often rent 125cc/150cc motorbikes to you without an International Drivers Permit (IDP).

Legally, you are supposed to have an IDP to ride a motorbike in Vietnam. If you are stopped by police and you do not carry one, you can be fined.

Personally, I’ve done trips both with and without a valid IDP. As long as you don’t ride like an idiot, the risk of a fine is low-moderate.

Some routes such as the Hai Van Pass and the Ha Giang Loop have a higher risk of being fined.

It’s your decision. An IDP costs under $100 and takes just a couple of weeks for approval.

An International Drivers License (IDL) or other acronym is not recognised in Vietnam.
